The collection is all that I have remaining from before November 2005, when a move resulted in the loss of recording masters and the few digital recordings I did have. Some of these tracks go back to the mid-eighties.
All of these tracks were recovered from audio recordings on cassette tape, some of which were also damaged. The audio quality of these tracks is therefore average at best, with audio dropping out and some very weird stereo transitioning that was never on the original masters.
Some of these tracks are completed, while others were just experiments and ideas.
"The People Out There' was written in around 2002 in collaboration with an old school friend, with whom I shared a house for some time. Although this recording is probably the worst quality of them all, I remember the good times we had going out socialising and jamming together in the living room. Thanks to Paul Stewart for this track.... and the good times.
"Dream Facade", was written in 1991 to test out a new keyboard I had bought at the time. The entire track is played on just one keyboard (Korg 01/W), using mainly the default timbres and patches.
"Rebirth" was written prior to my country move in 2005 and was the first track using a new system I had decided to use, the audio data for witch was stored on a laptop that was destroyed! This particular recording was made using live piano, played over a track that I had previously recorded. I remember it well as it was particularly difficult due to some unusual chord structures which took me about 20 takes to do it without too many errors.... There is one mis-key right at the end!
